WSU’s Building Puentes program is designed to graduate career-ready, English-Spanish bilingual professionals in northern Utah. The Building Puentes program offers certificate and degree programs through classes taught entirely in Spanish or bilingually. Building Puentes is distinct from WSU’s ESL coursework offered through the Community Education Center.

El objetivo del programa Building Puentes de WSU es preparar a nuestros estudiantes bilingües para trabajar en diversos sectores de alta demanda laboral. Building Puentes ofrece programas en los que se podrán obtener distintos certificados y títulos. Algunos de ellos, se impartirán en español; mientras otros, contarán con cursos en ambos idiomas. Hay tutores y asesores académicos bilingües para apoyar a los estudiantes, así como cursos de inglés como segunda lengua para los que necesiten mejorar sus conocimientos del idioma.

La estructura del programa Building Puentes les permite a los estudiantes combinar sus cursos para obtener una serie de certificados académicos y títulos universitarios. Por ejemplo, se puede cursar primero un certificado y, más tarde, completar los estudios necesarios para obtener un título de asociado o una licenciatura.
